34-HOUR CEU REQUIREMENTS FOR
NEW JERSEY ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS

CURRENT LICENSE PERIOD

(APRIL 1, 2015 - MARCH 31, 2018)


FOR THE CURRENT TRIENNIAL LICENSE PERIOD:

(APRIL 1, 2015 TO MARCH 31, 2018), IN ADDITION TO THE 9 HOURS OF CODE CHANGES AND ONE HOUR ON NEW JERSEY STATE STATUTES AND RULES, YOU WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AN ADDITIONAL 24 HOURS OF OTHER ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR RELATED COURSES THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

(TOTAL OF 34 HOURS)

1 HOUR OF INSTRUCTION = 1 CONTINUING EDUCATION UNIT (CEU)

FAILURE TO COMPLY:

UPON LICENSE RENEWAL, A LICENSEE MUST ATTEST THAT HE OR SHE HAS COMPLETED THE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. FALSIFICATION OF ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY THE LICENSEE ON A RENEWAL APPLICATION MAY REQUIRE AN APPEARANCE BEFORE THE BOARD AND MAY RESULT IN PENALTIES AND/OR SUSPENSION OF A LICENSE.

RECORD KEEPING:

THE LICENSEE MUST MAINTAIN DOCUMENTATION OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS HE OR SHE HAS EARNED FOR A PERIOD OF 6 YEARS. T.E.S. WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION FOR EACH COURSE YOU TAKE. T.E.S. WILL ALSO MAINTAIN RECORDS AND ISSUE NEW CERTIFICATES IF YOU ARE AUDITED BY THE STATE.

COURSE LENGTH:

EACH COURSE MUST BE NO LESS THAN ONE HOUR AND THE STATE DOES NOT PERMIT MORE THAN (8) HOURS OF INSTRUCTION TO BE GIVEN IN ONE DAY.

HARDSHIPS:

THE BOARD MAY WAIVE THE 34- HOUR REQUIREMENT FOR HARDSHIPS, SUCH AS SEVERE ILLNESS, DISABILITY OR MILITARY SERVICE. THE LICENSEE MUST APPLY TO THE BOARD FOR A HARDSHIP WAIVER.

CARRY OVER CREDITS:

A LICENSEE WHO COMPLETED MORE THAN THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF CREDITS DURING THE PROCEEDING TRIENNIAL PERIOD MAY CARRY NO MORE THAN (8) CREDITS OVER TO THE SUCCEEDING TRIENNIAL
